Global Industry: The future is happening now

Bremerhaven. (bm) It will probably take generations before German agricultural policy can free itself from the grip of the German Farmers’ Association (Deutscher Bauernverband – DBV) and its antiquated and expensive ideas. Until then, the German taxpayer will be expected to bear a great deal. The innovation backlog and mental inflexibility are so great today that environmental protection and biodiversity continue to play only a subordinate role in agricultural policy – see CAP 2020 under German presidency. The bill is being paid not only by German consumers, but also by conventional farmers who are being lulled into a false sense of security. Today, around the world, important decisions are being made to secure the food chains of tomorrow.
