Global Industry: Nestle USA to cut about 4’000 jobs

Bremerhaven. (bm) Nestlé USA, part of Swiss Nestle S.A., will lay off about 4’000 workers as it exits the company-owned frozen Direct-Store-Delivery (DSD) network for its Pizza and Ice Cream businesses and will transition to a warehouse model – that’s becoming an industry standard for major food companies looking to trim costs. The phased transition will commence in the third quarter of 2019 and is expected to be complete early in the second quarter of 2020. Other topics of the week:
